Instructions
Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
Flip the salmon and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
While the salmon cooks, prepare the lemon-dill sauce: In a small bowl, mix together sour cream, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
Once the salmon is done, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for 2 minutes.
Serve the salmon hot, topped with the lemon-dill sauce. Garnish with extra dill and lemon slices if desired.
Chef's Tips
- Freshness Matters: Use fresh dill and lemon for the best flavor in the sauce.
- Don’t Overcook: Salmon is best when slightly pink in the center. It will continue to cook after being removed from the heat.
- Skin Crispiness: For extra crispy skin, press down gently on the salmon with a spatula while cooking.
- Sauce Variations: Substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter version of the sauce.
- Serving Suggestion: Pair with steamed asparagus or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
