Ingredients
- 1 kg minced beef or lamb
- 2 slices of bread
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup raisins
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Bay leaves for garnish

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Soak the bread in 1/2 cup of milk until soft, then squeeze out excess milk and set aside.
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until soft and translucent.
Add the minced meat to the pan and cook until browned. Break up any lumps with a wooden spoon.
Stir in the curry powder, turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and cloves. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the soaked bread, apricot jam, vinegar, and raisins. Mix well and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Transfer the meat mixture to a greased baking dish. Press down evenly and smooth the top.
In a bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup of milk and eggs. Pour this custard mixture over the meat.
Place a few bay leaves on top for garnish. Bake for 40-50 minutes until the custard is set and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
