Instructions
Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Prepare the food processor: Add flour and salt to the food processor bowl. Pulse a few times to combine.
Mix the dough: With the food processor running, slowly pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Process until the dough forms a ball.
Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the dough: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into portions. Roll out each portion into your desired pizza shape.
Bake: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Add your favorite toppings and bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy.
Chef's Tips
- Yeast Check: Ensure your yeast is fresh. If it doesn’t froth, it may be inactive and won’t make the dough rise.
- Flour Adjustment: Add a little more flour if the dough is too sticky or a bit more water if it’s too dry.
- Resting Time: For better flavor, let the dough rise slowly in the fridge overnight.
- Freezing: You can freeze the dough for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before using.
- Cornmeal Trick: Sprinkle cornmeal on your baking sheet or pizza stone for extra crispiness.
