Instructions
Grind the coffee beans to a fine consistency, suitable for espresso. Measure out 18g of ground coffee.
Fill the espresso machine's portafilter with the ground coffee. Tamp it down firmly to ensure even extraction.
Brew a double shot of espresso (about 60ml) directly into a pre-warmed cappuccino cup.
While the espresso is brewing, pour 120ml of cold fresh milk into a steaming pitcher.
Steam the milk using the espresso machine's steam wand. Aim for a creamy microfoam with small, velvety bubbles.
Pour the steamed milk over the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon. Top with the remaining foam.
Optional: Dust with cocoa powder or cinnamon for extra flavor. Serve immediately.
Chef's Tips
- Fresh Beans: Use freshly roasted coffee beans for the best flavor. Grind them just before brewing.
- Milk Temperature: Heat the milk to around 60-65°C (140-150°F) for the perfect texture.
- Frothing Technique: Keep the steam wand just below the milk's surface to create a smooth microfoam.
- Pre-Warm Cup: Always warm your cup before brewing to maintain the coffee's temperature.
- Experiment: Try different types of milk like oat or almond for a unique twist.
