Add any optional ingredients like onions, bell peppers, or cooked meat on top of the cheese.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the fillings and place the second tortilla on top.
Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the quesadilla using a spatula.
Cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before cutting into wedges. Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
Chef's Tips
- Cheese Choice: Use a mix of cheeses like cheddar and Monterey Jack for better flavor and meltability.
- Crispy Tortillas: Make sure the skillet is hot before adding the tortilla to get a crispy texture.
- Flipping Tip: Use a large spatula to flip the quesadilla carefully to avoid spills.
- Add-ins: Experiment with different fillings like mushrooms, spinach, or jalapeños for variety.
- Storage: Store leftover quesadillas in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet for best results.
