Instructions
Cook the bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess grease.
Toast the bread: Lightly toast the bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
Assemble the sandwich: Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each bread slice.
Layer the ingredients: On one slice of bread, place the lettuce leaves, followed by the tomato slices. Season the tomatoes with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Add the bacon: Place the crispy bacon slices on top of the tomatoes.
Close the sandwich: Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down. Press gently to secure the layers.
Serve: Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately.
Chef's Tips
- Extra Crispy: For extra crispy bacon, bake it in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes.
- Bread Choice: Use sourdough or ciabatta for a more gourmet touch.
- Add Avocado: For a creamy twist, add a few slices of ripe avocado.
- Freshness: Use the freshest tomatoes and lettuce for the best flavor.
- Storage: This sandwich is best enjoyed fresh but can be wrapped tightly and stored in the fridge for a few hours.
