Instructions
Cook the rice according to package instructions. Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
Add ground beef to the pan. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the pan. Stir in taco seasoning and lime juice. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Warm the refried beans in a small saucepan or microwave until spreadable.
Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 20 seconds to make them pliable.
Assemble burritos: Spread beans on each tortilla, then layer with rice, beef mixture, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream.
Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll tightly from the bottom to form a burrito.
Chef's Tips
- Tortilla Tip: For extra pliability, lightly brush tortillas with oil before warming them.
- Protein Variations: Substitute beef with chicken, pork, or beans for a vegetarian option.
- Extra Flavor: Add guacamole, salsa, or jalapeños for more authentic Mexican flavors.
- Meal Prep: You can prepare the fillings ahead of time and assemble when ready to eat.
- Storage: Wrap burritos tightly in foil to keep warm if not eating immediately.
