Instructions
Add ingredients to bread machine pan in the order recommended by manufacturer (usually liquids first, then dry ingredients, yeast last).
Make a small well in the flour and add yeast, ensuring it doesn't touch liquid ingredients until mixing begins.
Select Basic/White bread setting on your machine. Choose medium crust color if available.
Press Start. The machine will mix, knead, rise, and bake the bread automatically.
When cycle completes, immediately remove bread from pan to prevent sogginess. Let cool on wire rack for 15 minutes before slicing.
For best texture, wait until bread is completely cool before storing in airtight container or bread bag.
Chef's Tips
- Ingredient Temperature: Use room temperature ingredients for best rising results.
- Flour Measurement: Spoon flour into measuring cup and level off - don't scoop directly from bag.
- Yeast Check: Ensure your yeast is fresh by testing in warm water with pinch of sugar - it should foam within 10 minutes.
- Altitude Adjustment: At high altitudes, reduce yeast by 1/4 teaspoon and increase water by 1-2 tablespoons.
- Customization: Add 1/4 cup dry milk powder for richer flavor or substitute 1 cup whole wheat flour for healthier option.
- Troubleshooting: If loaf collapses, reduce liquid by 1-2 tablespoons next time or check yeast freshness.
