Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, minced jalapeño, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic.
Season the salsa: Add the lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
Let it rest: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the salsa sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: Transfer the salsa to a serving bowl and serve with tortilla chips.
Chef's Tips
- Spice Level: Adjust the amount of jalapeño to control the heat. For a milder salsa, remove all seeds and membranes.
- Freshness: Use the freshest ingredients possible for the best flavor. Ripe tomatoes and fresh lime juice make a big difference.
- Chilling: For a deeper flavor, refrigerate the salsa for an hour before serving.
- Variations: Add diced avocado, mango, or black beans for a different twist.
- Storage: Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
