Instructions
Prepare the mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems and finely chop them. Set aside the mushroom caps.
Make the filling: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped mushroom stems, garlic, parsley, thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Stuff the mushrooms: Spoon the filling into each mushroom cap, pressing gently to fill completely. Optionally, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch.
Preheat the air fryer: Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 3 minutes.
Cook the mushrooms: Lightly brush the air fryer basket with olive oil. Place the stuffed mushrooms in the basket, leaving space between them. Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden and tender.
Serve: Let the mushrooms cool slightly before serving. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.
Chef's Tips
- Mushroom Selection: Choose large, firm mushrooms for easier stuffing and better texture.
- Cheese Variations: Substitute Parmesan with Pecorino Romano or Asiago for a different flavor.
- Extra Flavor: Add cooked bacon bits or chopped spinach to the filling for more depth.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
- Crispy Topping: For extra crispiness, spray the breadcrumbs lightly with cooking oil before air frying.
