Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a large bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, cut-side down for maximum crispiness.
Roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with grated parmesan, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss lightly.
Serve warm as a side dish or with a drizzle of balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
Chef's Tips
- Even Cooking: Try to cut the Brussels sprouts into similar sizes to ensure they roast evenly.
- Extra Crispy: For extra crispiness, space the sprouts out on the baking sheet so they aren’t crowded.
- Bacon Addition: Add crispy chopped bacon for a smoky, savory twist.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
- Vegan Option: Skip the parmesan or use nutritional yeast for a dairy-free version.
