Instructions
Marinate the shrimp: In a bowl, mix shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Make the lime crema: In a small bowl, combine sour cream, lime juice, and hot sauce (if using). Stir well and set aside.
Cook the shrimp: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
Warm the tortillas: Heat tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds per side or wrap in a damp towel and microwave for 30 seconds.
Assemble the tacos: Place a few shrimp on each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, avocado slices, and cilantro.
Drizzle with lime crema and serve immediately with extra lime wedges on the side.
Chef's Tips
- Fresh Tortillas: Warm tortillas just before serving to keep them soft and pliable.
- Extra Spice: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the shrimp marinade for more heat.
- Quick Slaw: Toss shredded cabbage with a bit of lime juice and salt for a quick slaw.
- Grill Option: Grill the shrimp for a smoky flavor.
- Storage: Store leftover shrimp separately from toppings to maintain freshness.
