Instructions
Prep the shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
Blanch the broccoli: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add broccoli florets and cook for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Cook the shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp butter and let it melt. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
Make the garlic butter sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Combine everything: Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet and toss in the garlic butter. Return the shrimp to the pan and stir to coat evenly.
Finish and serve: Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle fresh parsley. Toss once more and serve immediately.
Chef's Tips
- Fresh shrimp works best, but frozen (thawed) shrimp can also be used.
- Do not overcook the shrimp, as they will become rubbery.
- For extra richness, add a splash of heavy cream or white wine to the garlic butter sauce.
- Serve over rice, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
