Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy sear.
Season the salmon generously with salt, black pepper, and dried dill on both sides.
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place salmon skin-side down and sear for 3-4 minutes until crispy.
Flip the salmon, add minced garlic around it, and cook for another 1 minute. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
While the salmon cooks, toss asparagus with remaining olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 10-12 minutes until tender.
Serve salmon and asparagus together, garnished with lemon slices for a fresh finish.
Chef's Tips
- Skin Crispiness: Press the salmon gently with a spatula while searing to ensure even contact with the pan for maximum crispiness.
- Doneness Check: Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Lemon Zest: Add lemon zest over the dish before serving for an extra burst of flavor.
- Herb Options: Substitute dill with fresh thyme or parsley if preferred.
- Storage: Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking.
