Instructions
Preheat the smart grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F/190°C).
Make the BBQ sauce: In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the chicken: Brush chicken breasts with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Grill the chicken: Place chicken on the preheated grill. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Glaze with BBQ sauce: During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush both sides of the chicken with the prepared BBQ sauce.
Rest and serve: Remove chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Chef's Tips
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in half of the BBQ sauce for 1-2 hours before grilling.
- If using bone-in chicken, adjust cooking time to 25-30 minutes.
- For a smokier flavor, add a dash of liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce.
- Always let grilled chicken rest before cutting to retain juices.
- Store leftover BBQ sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
