Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Flip and sear the other side for 3 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and grated ginger.
Pour the honey glaze over the chicken thighs, coating them evenly. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes, basting halfway through.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
Chef's Tips
- Crispy Skin Tip: Make sure the chicken skin is dry before searing to achieve maximum crispiness.
- Glaze Variations: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick or a splash of orange juice for a citrusy twist.
- Basting: Baste the chicken frequently while baking to keep it moist and flavorful.
- Serving Suggestion: Pair with steamed rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain texture.
