Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 1/2-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging while cooking.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in a separate pan or toaster for 1-2 minutes until golden.
Assemble the burgers: Spread mayonnaise or your favorite sauce on the bottom bun. Add lettuce, tomato, and onion slices, then place the cooked chicken patty on top.
Cover with the top bun and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy with a side of fries or a fresh salad.
Chef's Tips
- Juicy Patties: Avoid overmixing the chicken mixture to keep the patties tender.
- Even Cooking: Make sure all patties are of uniform thickness for consistent cooking.
- Grill Option: These burgers can also be grilled for a smoky flavor.
- Cheese Lover: Add a slice of cheddar or pepper jack cheese during the last minute of cooking for a cheesy twist.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the patties in advance and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cooking.
- Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour as a substitute.
