Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Avoid pressing down on the patties to keep them juicy.
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster for extra flavor.
Assemble the burgers: Spread mayonnaise or your favorite sauce on the bottom bun. Add a lettuce leaf, then place the cooked chicken patty on top. Add tomato and red onion slices, then cover with the top bun.
Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes like fries or a fresh salad.
Chef's Tips
- Juicy Tip: Do not overmix the chicken mixture, as it can make the patties tough.
- Grill Alternative: If you don’t have a grill, a stovetop skillet works just as well.
- Cheese Option: Add a slice of cheddar or pepper jack cheese during the last minute of cooking for a cheesy twist.
- Make Ahead: You can prepare the patties ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before cooking.
- Gluten-Free: Substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour if needed.
