- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- 2 pita breads
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for pita chips)
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

Prepare the hummus: In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, and salt.
Blend the mixture until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Add a little water if the hummus is too thick.
Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if needed. Transfer to a serving bowl.
Prepare the pita chips: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut pita bread into triangles.
Toss pita triangles with olive oil and a pinch of salt. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy. Let cool slightly before serving with hummus.
Garnish hummus with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika if desired.
