Instructions
Make the special sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Set aside.
Form the patties: Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Gently shape into small, thin patties (about 2.5 inches wide). Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cook the patties: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Place a half-slice of cheese on each patty during the last 30 seconds of cooking.
Toast the buns: Brush the cut sides of the slider buns with melted butter. Toast them lightly in the skillet or under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden.
Assemble the sliders: Spread the special sauce on the bottom buns. Place a cheesy patty on each, followed by a pickle slice. Top with the remaining buns.
Serve immediately while warm. For a party, you can keep them warm in a 200°F oven until ready to serve.
Chef's Tips
- Meat Tip: Don't overwork the beef when forming patties to keep them tender.
- Cheese Options: Try cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack for different flavors.
- Mini Party Style: Assemble all sliders in a baking dish, cover with foil, and keep warm in the oven for easy serving.
- Vegetable Add-ons: Add lettuce, tomato, or caramelized onions for extra texture.
- Make Ahead: Patties can be shaped and refrigerated up to 24 hours in advance.
