Instructions
Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Divide into 12 equal portions and shape into small patties.
Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Place a half-slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish to make the special sauce.
Lightly toast the slider buns on the skillet or griddle for about 30 seconds per side.
Assemble the sliders: Spread the special sauce on the bottom buns, add a cooked patty with cheese, top with a pickle slice, and cover with the top bun.
Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter for extra flavor and shine.
Chef's Tips
- Patty Tip: Make a small indentation in the center of each patty before cooking to prevent them from puffing up.
- Cheese Options: Try different cheeses like American, Swiss, or pepper jack for variety.
- Bun Tip: If you prefer softer buns, skip toasting them.
- Extra Flavor: Add caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms for a gourmet touch.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the patties and sauce ahead of time for quick assembly when ready to serve.
