Instructions
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Set aside.
Form the patties: Divide the ground beef into 6 equal portions. Gently shape into small, thin patties slightly larger than the buns (they'll shrink when cooking). Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cook the patties: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. During the last minute of cooking, place a cheese slice on each patty to melt.
Toast the buns: Brush the cut sides of the buns with melted butter and toast lightly in the skillet or under a broiler for 1 minute until golden.
Assemble the sliders: Spread the special sauce on the bottom buns. Place a cheese-topped patty on each, then add 2 pickle slices. Cover with top buns.
Serve immediately while warm, with extra pickles and sauce on the side.
Chef's Tips
- Meat Tip: Don't overwork the beef when forming patties to keep them tender.
- Cheese Options: Try cheddar, pepper jack, or Swiss cheese for variety.
- Mini Version: Use dinner rolls for even smaller sliders perfect for parties.
- Make Ahead: Patties can be shaped and refrigerated up to 4 hours before cooking.
- Vegetarian Option: Substitute beef with plant-based patties or portobello mushrooms.
- Grill Option: These sliders cook great on an outdoor grill for smoky flavor.
