Instructions

1

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

2

Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Spread mayonnaise on the top side.

3

Layer the turkey slices evenly on the bread in the skillet.

4

Spread cranberry sauce over the turkey, then add the stuffing on top.

5

If using, add lettuce and cheese on top of the stuffing.

6

Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up. Press down lightly.

7

Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.

8

Remove from skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve warm.

Chef's Tips

  • Bread Choice: Use a sturdy bread like sourdough or ciabatta to hold all the fillings without getting soggy.
  • Extra Flavor: Add a smear of mashed potatoes or gravy for an extra Thanksgiving touch.
  • Crispy Stuffing: Reheat the stuffing in a pan before adding it to the sandwich for extra crispiness.
  • Cheese Melt: If using cheese, cover the skillet with a lid for the last minute to help it melt.
  • Variations: Try adding sliced avocado or a fried egg for a different twist.
