Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs (about 18-20 meatballs). Wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, leaving space between them.
Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, turning gently, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).
If desired, add marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes to coat the meatballs before serving.
Chef's Tips
- Tender Meatballs: Soak breadcrumbs in a little milk before mixing for extra tenderness.
- Baking Option: Bake meatballs at 400°F for 18-20 minutes for a hands-off method.
- Freezing: Freeze uncooked meatballs on a tray, then transfer to a bag for quick future meals.
- Herb Boost: Add fresh basil or rosemary for extra flavor.
- Serving Ideas: Serve with spaghetti, in a sub roll, or as an appetizer with toothpicks.
