Instructions
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula.
Drain excess fat from the skillet. Add the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Warm the tortillas according to package instructions, either in a dry skillet or microwave.
Assemble the tacos: Spoon the seasoned beef onto each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, onions, and shredded cheese.
Add a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
Enjoy immediately while warm. Customize with additional toppings like avocado, jalapeños, or hot sauce if desired.
Chef's Tips
- Fresh Tortillas: For the best flavor, warm the tortillas on a dry skillet until slightly charred.
- Extra Flavor: Add a pinch of cumin or smoked paprika to the beef for a deeper taste.
- Make It Spicy: Include diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce for extra heat.
- Vegetarian Option: Substitute beef with black beans or lentils for a meat-free version.
- Leftovers: Store leftover beef in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
