Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix gently until just combined.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan or shape into a loaf on the baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix together the glaze ingredients: ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
Bake for 45 minutes, then spread the remaining glaze over the top. Continue baking for another 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Chef's Tips
- Don't overmix: Overmixing can make the meatloaf dense. Mix just until ingredients are combined.
- Use a meat thermometer: Ensure the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
- Let it rest: Allowing the meatloaf to rest before slicing helps retain its juices.
- Add veggies: Incorporate finely chopped carrots or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
- Leftovers: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
