Instructions
Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes thoroughly. Pat the mozzarella balls dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Take a wooden skewer and thread one cherry tomato followed by a fresh basil leaf and one mozzarella ball. Repeat until the skewer has 3-4 sets.
Arrange all the assembled skewers on a serving platter in a single layer.
Drizzle the skewers lightly with extra virgin olive oil, ensuring each piece gets a little coating.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper over the skewers for seasoning.
Just before serving, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the skewers for a sweet and tangy finish.
Chef's Tips
- Freshness Matters: Use the freshest mozzarella and basil for the best flavor and texture.
- Skewer Tip: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes before assembling to prevent burning.
- Presentation: Alternate colors for a visually appealing presentation—red tomato, green basil, white mozzarella.
- Make Ahead: Assemble the skewers a few hours ahead and refrigerate. Add balsamic glaze just before serving.
- Variation: Add a small slice of prosciutto between the tomato and mozzarella for a salty twist.
