Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and dried thyme.
Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for 3 minutes until the skin is crispy.
Flip the salmon fillets and add minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
Add broccoli florets around the salmon in the skillet. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Place lemon slices on top of the salmon and dot the broccoli with butter. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
Roast for 8-10 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and the broccoli is tender. Serve immediately.
Chef's Tips
- Freshness Check: Ensure the salmon has a mild ocean smell and firm texture for the best flavor.
- Even Cooking: Let the salmon rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking for even doneness.
- Broccoli Tip: Blanch the broccoli for 2 minutes before roasting if you prefer a softer texture.
- Butter Substitute: Use ghee or olive oil for a dairy-free option.
- Leftovers: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking.
