- 3 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 6 soft hamburger buns
- 1 cup coleslaw (optional)

Prepare the pork: Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder. Pat dry with paper towels.
Make the rub: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Season the pork: Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, covering it completely.
Cook the pork: Place the pork in a slow cooker. Pour apple cider vinegar over it. Cook on low for 8 hours.
Shred the pork: Remove the pork from the slow cooker. Use two forks to shred the meat, discarding any large fat pieces.
Add sauce: Mix the shredded pork with BBQ sauce. Return to the slow cooker for 30 minutes to absorb flavors.
Assemble sandwiches: Toast the buns lightly. Pile the pulled pork on each bun. Top with coleslaw if desired.
