Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top for extra flavor.
Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the mashed potatoes. Boil the peeled and cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Serve the sliced meatloaf with a generous portion of mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
Chef's Tips
- Meatloaf Variations: You can use a mix of ground beef and pork for extra flavor.
- Glaze Option: For a tangy glaze, mix ketchup with a bit of brown sugar and mustard before spreading on top.
- Resting Time: Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing helps it hold its shape better.
- Mashed Potatoes: For extra creaminess, add a splash of heavy cream or sour cream to the potatoes.
- Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
